Hi, My name is Mara Maguire (aka. Meg). I am 29, living somehwere in Montgomery Co, MD (in the middle of house hunting), and nearly a year into my marriage with a wonderful man!

I grew up in central NJ where I'd met my husband first at the local Renaissance festival. I went to college in south NJ, with no particular major. No particular degree either. When I left college, I also left NJ, moving down to MD with a few friends and my (now) husband.

Though art and writing aren't part of my paying job, I have loved doing so for many, many years. (Usually in the margins of my notebooks in school. *sheepish look*) I did try to take art and writing classes in school, but couldn't continue with them. Art's a strong hobby for me, but while in college I wasn't ready for my work to be judged. I kept it as a hobby always doodling and working on improving my style. The comic was my first real focused project, and I'm still boggled by the difference between the first few strips compared to what I'm posting now.

A lot of my inspiration stems from Japanese animation and manga (and it shows). Along those lines, I tend to frequent Anime Conventions in the general area, as well as occasional visits to Chicago or Annaheim for the occasional convention there. I may even attempt a visit to Atlanta at some point for a convention there.
Of course the point here being that I've been selling my artwork at these cons.

Currently, I'm aiming for my first comic convention in September with a group of other Webcomic artists. I'm excited!
