WEEKLY HERALD (Off your regular Saturday Edition)

November 17-18, 2008
Ladies and Gentlemen (and anyone still out there) I have finally returned from my unintentional 8 month hiatus and have posted a new comic! Yes, I'm hoping to be able to pick back up on the 1-2 week posting that I was planning back in March. I think I have my inspiration back (okay, it never entirely left) but I also think I maight be able to have a bit of a handle on timing. And right now, time is really the biggest issue.

Coming soon, I'll probably have a more detailed post about what's been going on since my last post, as well as pictures of my 5 month old daughter. (She's so cute!!) Plus some sketches and layouts of other projects I've been working on. and some information on where I will be and where I hope to be going.

Until then... um, enjoy the return of the comic? Please? Thank you. ^_^

March 18, 2008
And life keeps going on and on and on... I don't remember what I was going to say after my last post, but clearly it went right out of my head like my schedule. At least I remember to write my script down. Now... where was I going next? Oh yeah. to bed.

I suppose I should just accept the fact that I'll probably be going between 1-2 weeks with posts for a while. Things are just hectic with all of the planning and preparing and events going on over the next few months, not to mention my own mental state, which has always been shaky at best.
Yes, I can admit it! I'm a nut. Want to know how much? With everything else going on, I'm also looking at new ideas for other comic projects. One, at least, won't come into play until late summer, at the earliest. Maybe I'll have sneak previews by then.

March 5, 2008
Yup, I know. Late again. Still going though, so it's something, right?

But as it is late in more ways than one, further details will have to wait at least a day.

February 12-13, 2008
Just a quick post and, sorry, no comic right now. I didn't want to try to rush thing, especially when I have so much last minute con prep to do. So instead my latest bit of creative fun. Three of my friends donated screen shots of their characters for the test run. I also have one of mine, but my computer's being a bit annoying and won't let me access my screen shot of him. Once I can get a hold of A screen shot, I'll upload his image as well.

I hope all is well for you all out there in internet-land! As for me, it's bedtime. More to come next week. (Sorry again for the continuing delays!)

February 5-6, 2008
Ah, I remember this familiar pattern, it was one I thought I'd broken. Guess I gotta break it again. (Mmm... breaking things.) Ahem.. anyway, moving right along. I know I promised action at some point, and there will be some! But we're also finally going to get some history on Paco. Curious? I know I am. (No wait. I already know. Darn, there goes my surprise, but you can still enjoy! ... Or do you already know?)

In real world news, well, there's the special block above stating the upcoming special realease of Black as White. It's not all of it, mind, but enough to make it fun!
Otherwise, I'll probably continue to be late the next two weeks. This coming weekend is visiting with the in-laws in OC. Should be fun. Next weekend: Katsucon! That'll be busy, and hopefully also fun! (We're sharing space again with In His Likeness! Yay!)

January 28-9, 2008
Ah, late posting yet again. Late in both the time and my intended date (which should have been two days ago, at least.). And I'm not even all that happy with this one. Well, with the images yes, particularly at the end, cause chibis are just fun... and I'm good at 'em. </ego moment> But also, when I first drew this (don't ask when, I'm already in enough trouble for my unprecidented hiatus.) I apparently had some dialogue in mind... I completely forgot to write it down, so this weekend was partially spent trying to figure out just what they are saying. Mostly the elves at the top, which is the part I don't like. I'll probably rewrite that at some point. - But Paco's new spell was fun to write. There are real words in there, honest! If you ask, I'll tell you what it is. *grin*

Otherwise, not too much more going on than there has been. Had an eventful weekend with a party first and then my mother coming to visit. (She's still here, leaving tomorrow.) and the fact that my scanner's still having some occasional issues.. or it's the computer. I know it's getting kind of old. I'll get it sorted out and in the meantime, there's nothing a quick reboot won't fix.

More next week: comic, news and excitement (I hope!)

January 20, 2008
Happy New Year everyone, and yes, I'm back. I could go on a list of why I've been away so long (ugh, about three months. Sorry!) but I suppose I really shouldn't waste space on excuses. Suffice to say, I've been kinda lazy and pre-occupied. Unfortunately, I didn't take any of this time to better plan out my story. Working on that now. Thing will pick back up, hopefully with regularly consistency. the story itself might be a little slow, but that action I promised months ago will still come. As well as a little info on one of the characters and a little more insight into what might be going on... maybe. <grin>
I hope I make the long wait worth it in the long run.

Cheers all, and I hope your New Year is looking great!

October 23, 2007
All right, I know. I'd been doing so good then the last month or so, I've completely blown my schedule. Though, as far as I can tell, with these two strips, I should now be caught up until this weekend.
Didn't help that.. well, you've probably seen the server problems. My own excuses? Yeah, I know. I should be making time for this. And I shall again! So much going on... more on that later. A few new projects to get started on soon, and currently some specifically for AUSA in less than a month. Whee!! Should be fun. I might be rolling out some new product.

But for now, I suppose that's it. Gonna keep this going. Yes, there is a new character in the group and you will soon find out what's up with her, (Don't tell me you didn't guess it was a female under those robes! And not just any female. Heh heh heh... :)
But first... a little more action. Cause we could all use a little more action in our lives. And I need to work on drawing more action, cause I've not done it much and practice makes perfect, right?

October 9-10, 2007
Turned out to be a day later. The federal holiday threw me off. I was off work yesterday, so I wound up doing other things. completely forgot. Ah well. It's here now. And, if you missed it, 106 and 107 were posted above until I added the new one, so if you missed them.... you can just check the archive. <grin>

This one was written at about the same time as 106 was, both of which were actually after 107 in terms of creation. Will me. Now to sleep so I can continue my work on 109 tomorrow. Yay! <thunk>

October 6, 2007
Well, this has been a bit of an unexpected hiatus. Between the con a few weeks ago (21-23) and then the site being down for a while, I guess I wound up a bit behind again, eh? Well, all is being made up for. 106 and 107 are up now, and 108 is on its way. (Tomorrow or Monday depending on how busy the weekend winds up...)

Speaking of the weekend, I'm going from here to PA to see my dad officially married to the woman he's been with since just before I got married (That's about 2 1/2 years for those who are counting.) This will be exciting! I'll even get to see members of my family I haven't in many many years. (Yeah, I'm out of touch.)

In any other news.. well, ther eisn't anything at the moment. Attempting to get things back together around the house. I seem to have hit a bit of a slump in motivation again. but that won't last much longer. Plenty of things to do and no conventions until next month. I can breathe (not that I'm complaining. I love the convention scene! It just gets.. kinda stressing, not to mention time consuming. But I think well worth it!)
So that's about it for now. Nothing else exciting in my life. It just goes on.

September 16, 2007
Yay! Completed another comic strip. And I felt the need to break the fourth wall just a smidge on this one, but I guess I'm further developing the humor of the comic. *grin* So yeah, sorry for yet another minor delay. still sick = lots of sleep (not that I'm complaining. I think I needed the sleep anyway.)

Aside from that, I'm preparing for yet another convention. Yes, Anime Weekend Atlanta which is, yes, in Atlanta GA. Time for a nice long trip later this week and hopefully an art table will be waiting for me. (I was put on the waiting list, but I should be at the top of it. *hopes*
Of course, in the rush of everything else I will try to have the next comic up in time, but it will probably be up on Monday. On the other hand, I don't have a con for a nother two months after this. No more excuses! (...hopefully)

September 12, 2007
I managed to keep to posting this before this weekend's (currently in progress, yes.) sorry about the few day delay. Of course, after getting off the excitement of this past weekend's con, I get caught in the cross between preparing for Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) in a week and a half (costuming in progress. Whee!) and catching the office plague, which at least is just a cold, but it's knocking me a bit on my bum. :P
So yeah, because of all that, I'm late and didn't get the proper shading done. But I did get a little distracted witht he idea of playing around in photoshop. It was too flat otherwise. *grin* Not final. All those unfinished pages will be completed.. eventually.

That aside, a little bit of info on the Baltimore comicon, as promised. It wasn't the best of cons, I'll admit, though I'm pleased that I sold a few of my books. But it was a conbination of not really having the space we'd expected to have (cause the premise for our little group lounge was a good one) and the actual con-goers, most of whom, I think were more interested in buying mainstream comics and collectables, rather than self-published and online comics. But such is how it goes. We passed out a lot of flyers, talked to a fair few people and my fellow artists got to give interviews!
Oh! on that note, who I shared table space with: Darren Gendron (and his lovely wife Kendra) of Dear Pirate and The Expert's Guide, Ross Nover of The Rockets and, of course, my wonderfullly talented friend James Hatton (and his better half Dani) of In His Likeness.

Also, f or those of you who missed the cover of my mini book (posted earlier this week) you can still see it here. These will be for sale at future cons and, eventually, online here. If you're interested in one, let me know.

September 8, 2007
Hey all! So, you now see the cover of my first mini book. It's actually the first 11 strips redrawn with current art, set up in a full page layout and, in some cases, with slightly modified dialogue to better suit the characters as they are now. It also includes the character descriptions I haven't managed to get set up here yet. (oops) This now currently on sale this weekend at the Baltimore Comicon (Webcomics Lounge - booth #1516).

Unfortunately, due to the work I wound up putting, last minute, into getting the books done, I haven't yet finished this week's comic. I am working on it and should have it done at the con tomorrow, so either tomorrow or Monday night it will be up, and I will resume with regular schedule the following Saturday.

More on the con itself when I post the comic. (sleep now, early morning.)

September 1-2, 2007
I can't believe it's September already! At least we're now into a three day weekend. Still there is moving on the morning horizon (I'm just glad it isn't me! I'm just the "hired" help.)

Anyway, new comic up, pretty much on time, as promised. I don't know what next week's schedule will look like jsut yet. I have a few other things I need to work on before the Comicon, but I hope to have a new strip up as part of those things. If not, I have a few other things that will be another filler.
Sorry! I'm trying. It's a bit of a busy time. *hides*

Also, it was pointed out to me that I mis-typed the link for my Deviant Art account last week. So here it is, corrected. Cheers.
I relaly need to sleep now. : )

August 26, 2007
Happy weekend, everyone! Yes, okay, I'm still running late with my comic, as I have the past few weeks, but I figured in light of the fact that I've been having a hard time concentrating lately on things I should be, I wasn't going to push myself too much. So I'll finish 103 this weekend and will have it up on time this coming Saturday.

In the meantime, I give you my World of Warcraft character, Erik (well Erikalis really, because Erik was taken). As he was originally modelled off a rather meek, bookish D&D mage character I'd created a long time ago, it's little wonder that when he finally had to upgrade his armour to something stronger than tha robes he'd been wearing, and all they had for his level was vests (bloody vests!!) he was feeling a little exposed.
So yeah, that's what was on my mind.
PS. No, the actual WoW character doesn't have glasses, but those were in my original character concept. He also used to be human. We compromised. ^_^ Enjoy! See you next week!

More silly little art bits now uploaded on my Deviant Art account.

August 20-21, 2007
Another late, and late night post. Though not nearly as late as last week. Yet another comic where I had to spend a lot more time on dialogue. But you can't just expect conversation this brilliant to always come so smoothly, can you? <g> Okay, yeah, ego aside, this was fun once I finally figured out exactly what I was doing with it.

In the meantime, I had something of a busy weekend, including spending time on Saturday helping a friend move some of her stuff. There will likely be more time in the next few weeks helping friends move. Apparently, 'tis the season.
Well, it's good exercise, right? Ha, I feel BUFF!

Anyway, my apologies that I haven't gotten those new images scanned in yet. I'm still tryig to get myself together. From what? I'm not sure. Maybe it's these late nights... I seem to have so many of them. - Oh well, either way, there is definitely art coming!

August 14th, 2007
Phew. Yes, I know, I'm late again. I don't plan to make a continuous habit out of this. But I did decide that since I was already running late this weekend, I'd put forth the extra effort to actually finish it completely. With all the shading and everything. I'm pleased, and I hope you enjoy as well!

Current news? Well, part of the delay was due to taking a few days off last week where I was told to not think about work or comic stuff. So I didn't. Have some other strange doodles though. I should have them up on DA at some point in the next week or so. It's that effort it takes to scan things and then upload them. *grin*

Just a few weeks left of finish a few projects in time. Hopefully I'll be able to manage these. I'm falling a little behind, but aside from some cleaning of the house this coming weekend, I intend to put a lot of the time to drawing and all. (That's what the only slightly distracting HP audiobooks are for. *grins*) not much else to share currently, so I'll just have to have something worth sharing this weekend.

August 4, 2007
Happy 100th strip!! It 6 years to get here, but here we are. And as a special, as you can see, I did this one in full color! Heh heh.. don't get too used to it. We'll be back to greyscale next week. You can see the gray-toned version here.

In other news, have I mentioned that I'm working on a new BaW project? I'm going to re-release the prologue, completely redrawn and shaded, print only. It should hopefully be ready and available by Baltimore Comicon the first weekend of September.

Finally, I have remembered to actually post up the new fanart and guest comic on my Fanart page. Take a look! It's good stuff!

Thank you all, and here's to hopefully another 100 strips, at least. I can tell you now, we've barely tipped the edge of the storyline. Cheers, all. Meg

July 29, 2007
Yes, still trying to keep up. guess I'm either not quite as focused or have less tham than I think. Either way, I was also trying for something rather complicated with this strip. not sure if I quite got the point acrss at the end. I'll doa little cleaning and get that up a bit better, plus with the next strip. Number 100, folks. You know what that means, right?
Well, if you do know, I don't need ot tell you, and if you don't well... That's the surprise. Should be fun, either way. <g>

Anyway, now off to bed with me. Oh and yes, I do need to finish the page for this strip, plus I have fanart that needs to be posted. I promise I will get that done! (in due time. But I don't mean to make anyone feel unappreciated for their time and effort. I appreciate you all!)
Must sleep now. *thunk*

July 23, 2007
I LIVE! I think. <g>
Otakon was one crazy con this year, but I had a lot of fun. I also drew a lot of portraits and comission art. Nearly burnt myself out.. May have, actually. Just goes to show I need to draw more, eh?

So, this isn't my artwork. It's yet another art gift from the wonderfully talented Kiaki-chan who has now made me four pictures to date, and was awesome and hung out with me at the table this weekend! This, the Sparkie sketch she drew me this weekend, plus another picture of Paco from ages ago, will make it to my fanart gallery this weekend along with a place for the Guest Strip that Dean had made me.

To follow that, yes, I was so busy with pre- and at con stuff that I didn't have much time to work on this past weekend's technical comic. I do have most of it sketched out. I'm trying out a few new items. We are also anticipating strip #100, finally. Yes, I do have something special planned for that. timing right now: 99 this weekend, and 100 next. (Patience is a virtue. heh. :) )

Finally, I'd like to thank all those cool people that I got to hang with this weekend! Lots of web comics artists around, which was just awesomeness. I will list them this weekend so those looking can share in it all. I don't have the links with me right now and I'm just too exhausted right now. I barely remembered to post something. Aheheh...
Anyway, welcome also to all you folks I met at Otakon that are visiting now. (And to Jareth and Ambrocious, please send an email, I'd really love to see more of your work and I forgot to get your DA accounts.)

July 15-6, 2007
Yup, slacking again, well at least in still not having the full shading complete, and, honestly, I won't next week either, because it's Otakon and I have a few new buttons to complete by then, as well as finishing the repairs and, hopefully, a few additions to my KH2 Sora costume. I will have that costume fully complete but AWA! (oh yes...)

I also realize the dialogue may seem a little poor, but keep in mind, these aren't necessarily the brightest of thugs.Even if they think it's witty, doesn't mean everyone else will. <g>

Finally, I have received new gifts of fanart from the lovely Kiaki-chan (who will also be visiting my table at Otakon. Yay!), But I will apologize to her now that I will have to wait until late this week to post it because I really need to sleep. It's bad enough I forgot to scan all this in and complete it before I went away for the weekend (friend's engagement party. More Yay!) So this is going up technically Monday morning. Should have the next comic by Friday night.
Getting close to the centennial strip!

PS. bonus points (maybe a free gift?) for anyone who can recognize the title reference! (My near and dear ones don't count, cause I know you'll know. ;) )

July 6, 2007
Greetings and salutations. I have a few new things for you today. As you can tell, I have a guest comic, as I'd promised last weekend, by Dean F. the guy who made my day by randomly emailing me just to say hi, at first. And then he made me the amusing banner above as an invitation for everyone else to do the same. Please feel free to click on the banner and say hi!

Oh and yes, I am actually posting a day (or two depending on how you look at it) early. This is because, due to the impending con this weekend, I don't know if I'll have a connection this weekend. This just seemed easier while I've got the connection.
So once again, That's So Cute will be hiding out at AnimeNEXT! And don't forget Otakon in two weeks! Hopefully we'll be hanging out with In His Likeness and Noses Optional.

July 1-2, 2007
Call me a slacker. I know. I deserve it. Things have been busy as I have taken on a few different projects. More on those later though.. Once I have it all a bit more clear. Right now, most forefront (aside from the fact that I didn't complete this comic in full shading, I know.) is that I'm going to be doing a sort of rush con next weekend. The buttons will be at AnimeNEXT sharing space with Priss of PhantomBlush (an amazing comic and anime-character artist!)

On that note, also, I will be busy this week doing all kind of non-comic related things so, in lieu, I shall be posting a *cue drumroll* Guest Comic! Yes, I've been sent a guest comic. I do welcome them. So if anyone else wishes to submit one, consider this the official "open invitation". Mind I do reserve the right to artist critique and correct as necessary, but as long as it isn't above and beyond the call of unnecessary imaging, then I will proudly post it! So, share with me. Or even just talk. I'd love to hear what people think of the comic, story.. any suggestions? ^_^
To make things easier, I've added a new new of "easy access" links to the left of the News here so you can contact me! (More links to come.)

Read back further...

Thanks for reading!
